Prep and Paint "Pebble dash"

HI, I have read a couple of articles about this that are already posted.
But not really answered my questions.
Please may i ask.

I know the wall I have to paint isnt pebble dash, its more like small flint stones stuck all over it, (not Barney or Freds)
And, I know for a fact that they arent porus, so what can i prime, or paint over them knowing that it will adhere?
Is there a primer i should use, or maybe a Paint product that is good to use from the tin on bare Flint? That can also be used on pre-painted masonary too?
