Basically we've not heard from our builder in weeks (extension).

A joiner is coming out to fit an oak door frame and door in the opening (pictures).

What do I need to do to get the opening ready?
  • I assume the opening needs cavity closers on both sides?
  • Does dpm go behind the whole frame because it's timber?
  • Where does the existing dpm go?
  • Guessing I will have to cut the blockwork level with the bricks too?

You should check with your building control inspector to see where you are in case you are behind on the inspections. You’ll be wasting your time finishing the job if it can’t get signed off.

Thanks, we have done. Fitting the door won't affect any of the inspections but it does need doing - upstairs has been knocked through and it's getting draughty in the house.
