preparing cellar bricks prior to tanking

Tanking out my cellar and need to remove paint and clean down some old mould growth from the cellar bricks prior to applying tanking slurry.

What is the best way to achieve this?

Nitro Mors and a scrubbing brush for the paint and bleach or mould and mildew cleaner for the mould

That's how I would do it anyway

Do appreciate what appears to be a coal cellar with coal hole too , love the smell of a real fire
