Preparing for papering

I am almost ready to paper our spare bedroom. The walls were previously papered and I will be papering them again. There are a few uneven bits I want to sort out.

Would I be okay to use jointing compound? Heard it is easy to use and sand. Especially as I am not filling any deep holes etc.

Easier to use Easyfill, £10 a bag nice and easy to sand. That's what its for.

Joint compound every time. Easyfill is expensive rubbish.

Just as good I suppose. If it does the same job and is cheaper, so much the better.
