Pressure problem with boiler

i have a Worcester Bosch R 30/35/40 and the pressure gauge is showing practically zero. the boiler is still working fine but obviously want to up the pressure back to a more normal level.

we have done this before successfully so am fairly confident we are doing it right: turn the value on the cold water inlet pipe 90 degrees and then there is a screw above it that needs loosening - water should flow in. but nothing is happening.

any ideas what is wrong? could the value be blocked and is there a way we can unblock it ourselves?

any help would be great thanks.

We had pressure problems with our worcester combi and it turned out that the expansion vessel had failed so we kept filling up the system and it would keep going down over a few days. Once it was replaced everything has gone back to normal. Don't know if your boiler is the same type but it's worth looking at. Hope this helps.

thanks but no it's not the same thing. the problem is that we can't fill it up. we're turning the right values/screws but the water won't flow in.

Don't know these worcesters too well, but sounds like a non return valve stuck shut in the cold inlet.

Buy a new good quality filling loop and a poncho.

Put the kettle on.

Turn water off.

Prepare work area (remove electrical items).

Change filling valve and non-return valve. If you have a double check valve with an internal servicing valve then put that on the cold water side, and the other valve on the heating pipe - it'll make future drain downs easier.

Get everything back up and running.

Pour the tea.
