Hi,
Looking for a bit of advice regarding my Potterton Puma 80e...
A while back, I was getting the low pressure light coming on (stopping the boiler from working) but according to the gauge, pressure was fine. After reading some posts on here, I disconnected one of the wires from the pressure switch which let me use the boiler. After a while, I re-connected it again and it seemed to be working fine... for a bit then same problem came back and I currently have it disconnected again. (I really sould be replacing or cleaning the switch).
Anyway, the current problem is that when heating is turned on, pressure rises away beyond 3 bar and drops below 1 bar when heating is turned off and stays down there. Again from the site and useful FAQs, this sounds like the pressure vessel needs recharged. I'm just wondering though whether this is at all related to my pressure switch problem?
Also, when and if I should be re-charging the PV, where do you drain water from - somewhere at the boiler or is it OK from a radiator bleed valve?
Thanks for reading my problem
