I've sometimes heard it said that it is all fine and dandy to connnect a standard gravity shower as follows:

Hot feed is fed from tank in loft.

Cold feed is fed from mains with a pressure reducing valve in line to balance the pressures.

A non-return valve is incorporated in the feeds.

Is this an OK way to do things? Or should they both be fed from matching sources ie tanks in the loft.

Cheers.

Only the shower valve manufacturer can say definitively if this is OK. In practice I would expect most shower valves to be OK, providing the pressure was sufficient.

However, if your hot water pressure is low, you might be better off looking at Venturi showers (do a search).

Hi Bahco, just keeping a low profile - I was spending too much time giving free advice and too little running my business.
