well as a law abiding citizen... this annoys me more than most things.... i have kids, and i know that if you say "you've been naughty, you're going to bed early" and then at bedtime, let them stay up to watch Harry Hill's TV burp, then their punishment is meaningless.....

The next government needs to have jail building as a huge priority in it manefesto ! People need to realise that crime does NOT pay !!!
 
How about we just keep the prisons we've got but get Cuban Guards with Cuban rules?

Prisoners made to work 12 hours a day in Cuba

HAVANA, September 12 (www.cubanet.org) - Thirty-two inmates at the El Anoncillo minimum-security prison camp have been put to work more than 12 hours a day cleaning fields and planting them, under the orders of Omar Mora.

The inmates say they get an indescribable liquid without bread in the morning and that their other meals are poor, according to José Agramonte, who also said they work without appropriate shoes and without pay. The only incentive, he said, is the authorization of periodic visits by family members.

At the camp, Agramonte said, there are no baths or medical attention, and no analgesics. He added that the guards threaten the prisoners with sending them to a maximum security prison if they don't do as they are ordered, and with sending them to isolation cells if they speak out.

why do we keep locking people up?
why do we keep locking the same peolpe up :?

surely there has to be a better way?

where is the progress within society?

Perhaps it is. Perhaps we shouldn't let them out once we've banged them up.
 
perhaps is a very flexible term.

many conotations, perhaps denotes many outcomes.

dependant upon what preceeds, perhaps.

perhaps there maybe many ways to deal with offenders?

perhaps there my be something wrong with the system of criminalisation.

perhaps criminalisation is too blunt an instrument, to deal with the reasons of supposed criminal behaviour?

perhaps our judicial model requires to be examined with a view to being judged as fit for purpose?
 
A quick run through of my life.

Brought up in bolton council estate, dad worked, mam, at xmas, for toys off mam, not dad. 4 of us,kids, no spends, friends did get spends,so to stay in with them, needed money.

I try to fnd work 1978/ 79...no chance

That was the start of my criminal career, everyone around had money, i wanted a job. going through the same thing agian,i need a job, if it dosen't materialise, i will go back to doing things against the law, i still have to provide.

Wait till this new law comes out, people not willing to work, get no money, ha, then you will need prisons, watch all the sentences go down.







People need educaion and work, when i have a decent paying job, i never see the law.
