Problem downlighters

I have just changed my 12v downlighters for 4 new (chip) LED versions, from about 50w to 5w I think.
Problem is they all won't come on at the same time, flickering about but only 1-2 remaining on!
I did remove the dimmer switch and replaced with normal rocker switch. All have their own mini transformer (4 sets).

Any ideas??

First thing would be to isolate circuit and re-check for any loose connections.

Sounds fair enough, but the regular 4X MR16 that were removed just seconds before fired up no bother?

I think the transformers have a soft start in them, would that cause problems?

The transformers are under-loaded, they need replacing with LED drivers

Electronic transformers have a minimum load as well as a maximum load. Typically 20w - 60w. As your LEDs are less than 20w, they will not work properly with the existing transformers.

Could I run them all through one transformer if they are 20w min power?

Id be surprised if your new ones were 5w, that's very powerful for LED's / SMD's. Brightest I have found is 4w.

Even if they were 5W that would mean that with them all on you'd only just hit the bottom level of the transformer's requirements. Better to get a purpose-built LED driver version.
