the fuse box, has a 'protected circuits' switch as part of it, and that's not been flipped...
There isn't another socket on the same wall, the nearest socket is on an adjacent wall, and that's working fine, as is the one in the room above, as I'm guessing that it could have be brought down from upstairs...
Are you suggesting the 'fused spur' would be outside the wall, and visable, or hidden within the wall?
if the spur is inside the wall, is it possible that a connection has been broken when the wires have been moved/pulled?
