Problem whilst painting window, gloss damaged removing tape

Hi everyone I’m not painting expert, as you can probably tell, I had a new window fitted replastered and new window board, I did the painting first I did the walls and then painted window board with primer and gloss when I removed the masking tape the gloss started to tear and leave a poor finish, what is the best way to improve this, I was thinking builders caulking, and zissner bin primer? Then repainting the walls and leaving the gloss? I do t know any advice would be great thank you I’ve added pics

I painted the walls first then the window board maybe that was the problem ? And can gloss paint go on caulking alone or does it need primer first?

I would say depends on how much work you want to make for yourself, you could touch up with some non printable caulk or even white silicone around the edge of the window board and just lightly sand the gloss on the wall and repaint that small section of wall.

Did you sand the window board prior to glossing ? How many coats did you put on ? Undercoat ? Primer ? Either way looks like the paint has just layered up on top of the tape and when removed has left the rough edge.

I would usually use caulk around the edges first to give yourself a nice clean edge to work to.

Also looks like your tape was slightly on the sill and not completely on the wall
