Hello,
I'm new here and fairly clueless when it comes to most things DIY!
I am having trouble with the toilet in my property in that there is a constant stream of water running into the toilet bowl.
The toilet is also making noises every minute or so (like a very low powered flushing noise)
I have noticed this over the last few days.
I have not been living at the property since November but visit daily the toilet is used an average of once a day.
I have included a picture of the innards.
The toilet is a Push-button flush.
Does anyone know a trade name for this type of toilet?
If it's an easy problem to sort out? (If so, how?)
And if not, a fair price to get a plumber to sort it?
I would really appreciate any advice.
Many Thanks
Chris

possible the float valve is not shutting off fully or the flush valve is not sealing properly.

on the float valve is a plastic float hold that up, does it stop filling ?

that looks like a grohe cistern as well.

Thanks to both of you for all of your help so far.
If the float valve is the white plastic lever in the top left of the cistern, the water level does rise when I push this down... (?)
Any further help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again
Chris

is it a flush valve rather than a syphon type?

if it is it's probably worn out as they are rubbish. usually the valve is cylindrical about 3 -4" in diameter
most can be unclipped by rotating the whole body to disengage
check the washer at the bottom for scale or damage

the valves are called adagio valves, very common part to go wrong.

don't push it down hold the float up does the valve stop flowing ?
if it does the the flush valve is passing water.

The part you need is = Dal 20.26.28 Flush Valve Cartridge
You will find this on the link for Lunns given in previous post

Just check before you order that the bellows under the cradle is retracting properly, i.e. not pushing down on the top of flush valve.

Sorry for my late reply.
Have been working away.
Bought the Flush valve as advised and replaced the old one.
Looks as though the problem was caused by small air bubbles on the rubber seal near the bottom of the valve.
Anway, just wanted to thank you all...you taught me a lot and saved me a helluva lot of money.
Best wishes
Chris
