2. post a decent title please it gives everyone an idea of what you need help with.

anyway to the problem !
does hot water heat when heating is on? if so look at diverter valve as a probable cause.
does the boiler fire up in hot water only (no demand for C/H ?
if so does the C/H flow pipe get warm?

Bound to get a response to that question.
Applying the prinicple of positive thinking: I rate them higher than Sime, by about 0.1 on a scale of one to ten.

as we fit both i can answer that
1. fitted loads of Vaillants
2. fitted 2 Halstead Edens

of the 1st none have ever given trouble had group service out once (turned out to be a blocked pipe in system)
the 2nd 1 of them failed in 3 days with a flow switch problem took 2 engineers 2 weeks and 2 visits to sort out then the 2nd engineer found that the flow switch was only problem number one! he then had to replace a thermistor as well.
not impressed with the booking system that halstead are operating although both engineers were good.
