Problems with DHW on vaillant turbo max

having problems with turbomax hot water delivery. boiler keeps cycling on and off. water is luke warm and then cold, from reading comments it points towards divertor valve but then on other occasions, the boiler wont cycle on HW but after running for a minute or so the boiler then starts to make a high pitched whining. Any ideas. Thanks.

Sounds like its sludged up and the hw heat exchanger is blocked.

Get the systems flushed and the hw heat exchanger changed

Thanks for quick reply. Do you think I also have a problem with the divertor valve or the microswitch on the valve causing the boiler to cycle on and off.

The boiler will cycle on and off as the heat has nowhere to go and reaches the limit stat temp.

Not necessarily. To check for a diverter problem, wait until the CH pipes from the boiler are cool, then run a hot tap. If the CH flow pipe (leftmost) gets hot, it's "letting by".

Thanks lads, if flow pipe is getting warm once hot tap is running, how long will this take ( ie. will the pipe warm within seconds or minutes.)
Also how big a job to change divertor valve.

Had a ecomax with the same symptom recently, clogged plate hex.

Its easy job on these, drain boiler, 2 nuts and a clip. Replace oring and fibre washers on refit.
