I have a workshop that is completely clad in tannalised weatherboard.
It was built 13 years ago and has always been painted with Superdec.
It's well maintained but every time I come to paint it I get parts where the paint is cracked and loose near the bottoms of the boards. It's not everywhere so I usually give these a good sanding back to bare wood and at least two coats over.
My problem is that it keeps happening !
some places the wood is wet underneath and sometimes it's bone dry!
Does anyone know why the bottoms of the boards are more prone to this? I assume it's something to do with the right angle at the bottom corner expanding and cracking the paint?
I do round these off when I'm sanding though but it keeps happening again and again mostly on the north side of the building and where it's more exposed to the weather.
I'd appreciate some advice on how best to stop this happening please?
