Hi, I'm looking for advice/ comments on repainting the outside of my house which has several small cracks in the rendering and the paint is flaking off in places. Someone came round yesterday advertising protectacoat and said he would phone soon with a quote .
Does anyone know about this product or this company as I am always wary of cold caller salesmen.

it will be interesting to get a quote from a well-established local housepainter to do your house with masonry paint (including minor repairs) and compare this to the cost of the company that employs door-to-door salesmen.

For example, Dulux Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint is designed to give 15 years all-weather protection.

It'll be a daft price. The last one I heard of was £5K for a job that should have been about £1200.

Agree with john and joe,probably a rip off.Dulux Weathershield Masonary paint will do exactly what it says on the tin,plus a 15 year guarantee.Tell the salesman your not interested.
