Can you put PTFE and jointing compound in compression olives?
 
No real need for either on a correctly made compression joint ,but a smear of joining compound isn't out of the question.
 
Thanks how does the jointing compound seal it?
The outside of the olive and the mating surface of the fitting make the leakproof seal so by adding a little compound between the two it gets squashed inbetween.
