Good evening, this part relates, in part, to my post from the 3rd January.
Customer would like PTG softwood flooring in their kitchen but they want it secret nailed onto there existing flooring which is PTG Flooring but albeit in a right state from years of wear and tear. My concern is this, the new flooring is 121mm wide x 18mm thick, if I were to secret nail it then I feel that it could still cup in the middle, whereas if I were putting this type of flooring down for its intended use I would face nail it onto the joist with lost heads. Additionally the ends of the planks aren't T&G so I feel there could be movement here as well. I am not sure this type of flooring can be used in the way they would like it fitted, any pointers would be great, thank you.
