The pump on our central heating stopped working. Whilst having a look to see where the fault could be I found that pushing gently on the speed setting switch the pump would activate.

The pump is a PTS Pump 5 (6 bar IP42).

Is this a know issue and easy to fix, or is it a replacement pump job.

If so, is it worth swapping like for like or is there a better one at a reasonable price?

Thanks for any help offered.

its gonna be a rebranded pump so hard to know the type. I would hazard a guess at a Myson pump(now CP) as they suffered with dodgy electrics from time to time. Better off sticking a new one in. Get a Grundfos.

Thanks for that, was along the lines of what I suspected.

Any particular model of Grundfos recommended, needs to be suitable for a micro bore system?

just replace like for like. If yours is a 5m head pump then fit a 15-50, or 6m 15-60. Should say somewhere on yours what m head it is.
