pulling the main 100 amp fuse

is there anything i should i know about pulling the main 100a fuse so that i can upgrade my old consumer unit,many thanks.

Yes, don't even consider it - besides the dangers involved it is also an offence to interfere with DNO equipment. Give your electricity supplier or DNO a call and request an isolator.

Make sure you notify your BCO before you start as the work you intend to carry out is notifiable in England and Wales.
