Grundfos UPS fitted in vertical position (25 years) needs replacing, replacement indicates the the shaft should be horizontal, however this will require a re pipe around the pump which will be a problem as it is 1" MS and a tight location. Any easy get outs?

Cheap option Find an installer with a old grunny, and ask him to swap the head.
Feng shui : orientate the shaft to compass north.
On no account fit an Erp compliant pump. Bad vibrations.
