Looks like I will have to change my ups2 15/50 pump on S plan vented.
only thing is pump valve is seized on one side (of the pump) any handy tips on best way forward
thanks

Best bet is to drain down and fit new isolator . what type is yours ,does the spindle stick out ,with a flat end for a spanner ?

thanks terry
No its the one with the silly screw that often leaks. By the way should I open zone valves manually?

thanks

Latch open the motorised valves ,to aid draining and filling. Change the iso valves for ones with a spindle.

Thanks again, what about freezing the pipe near the dodgy valve or am I asking for problems going down that route?

You could do it that way if you wish ,bear in mind you have limited time before the ice plug melts ( if you hit a problem for instance and time is ticking by )and they cost money. Draining out gives you all the time you want and no wet surprises. Don't forget to top up inhibitor.

If it were me I'd bung the system, saw the collars off the old valves and prise them off and fit 2 new closed valves and then replace the pump at leisure
