Punto cutout

06 punto when low on fuel, cuts out on left hand bends. Soon as turn is complete all's well. Logic would dictate faulty fuel pump.Anyone else had this problem and better still fixed it. fuel pumps are bloody pricey!!!!! Thanks all.

I don't want to sound particularly anal, andy, but it sounds like the fuel pump is picking up air, and momentarily causing fuel starvation....why not keep more fuel in the tank?
When you say 'low', I guess you mean almost on vapour?

No they wont run on vapour, I tried

Yeah, that would have been my diagnosis on the facts as written. Thing is, I've had the car from new and my fuelling and driving habits are unchanged.Also, I'm not running desperately low, this happens prior to fuel warning light operating. I guess I,ll have to live with it until total failure of something provides the definitive answer.(more than likely on the motorway at midnight.) Many thanks for responses

My guess then is that the filter has fallen off the end of the pump dip pipe, which means that the pump can't scavenge from the very bottom of the tank.
Only taking the pump out will tell you for sure!

check the sender for the fuel gauge too, it may be inaccurate
