Is there a pure wax (liquid or paste) out there that I wax my car with? I've tried Turtlewax, Meguiars and a few others but they all contain some polishing agents.

Yes there are Andy, and you can pay £100's if not £1000's on it! The wax will give the paintwork protection and depending on it's condition, a depth of shine. Make sure the paintwork is tip-top before you bother to wax it.

These guys have a good range and most are available in Halfrauds: http://www.meguiars.co.uk/

For an idea how the Pro's do it have a look here: http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/foryourcar.html

The generic name is Carnauba wax. Save some £ if you can get it without fancy names ;)

If you get a spare hour, read through this thread and you'll never want to polish, wax or even clean your car again! Cleaning to the extreme!

It's the place to ask for wax advice though

"Now the car was ready for washing...I decided to wash in pure reverse osmosis water zero ppm in the dunk bucket and 50/50 pure and hot water in the shampoo bucket."

 some people, mine gets washed in pure rainwater, periodically. :D
