Is their any trick in putting back a kickboard from under the kitchen cabinets seems to have grown since i removed it. or do i have to file it down a bit.

Did it get wet? may have swollen.
Electric plane or jigsaw the the top edge of it. If you make a bit of a hash of it, it should be covered by the overhang of the base cabinets.

try measuring from the ground up to the edge of the unit then mark this marking onto the base board/kickboard and plane down with planer, you may want to place some masking tape along the edge your planing,this leaves a cleaner finished edge and saves break out. hope this is some help to ye.
