Hi,
I am just about to re-board a ground floor ceiling. The area is a kitchen/diner. Above is a toilet/bathroom and a bedroom.
To do a good job, how would a builder do this ceiling ?.
Should I put sound insulation between joists ? should I use the blue soundboard or just use normal 12.5mm board and no insulation ?
thanks in advance for any advice.
george

Sound insulation is never a bad thing and it helps prevent drafts.

If noise travel from either of the rooms is a problem then adding denser plasterboard or indeed two layers of plasterboard is going to help stifle the sound.
It's up to you really. The other side effect of more plasterboard layers is that it will help prevent fire spread.
