putting up free standing trellis panel

Hi all,
I'm putting up a 6ft trellis at the back of a bed, just the one so only 2 posts.

My question is can I dig the holes without a special post hole digging tool ie just a regular spade? Need to go down 2ft or so and am planning to use postcrete. The soil is going to be fairly soft I think.

Yes, of course you can....if the ground is fairly soft, consolidate it by whacking some stones in before you postcrete.

I'd use a border spade if you have one - so that the hole is smaller.
