Hi All

Hopefully some PV installers can help here

I'm considering looking into the options of having PV panels installed but before I get anyone round to price up just want to get some advice

Is there a maximum KW capacity for domestic properties?

I have ample roof space so am wondering what systems others have and what they would would recommend given the current FITs and systems costs

Any help appreciated

Thanks

I don't fit them but did look into getting them fitted, it would seem there is no limit as such but when I looked the price paid per kWh drops once you hit 7.5 kW however it seemed to vary on how this was calculated, some took the rating of the panel others took the output of the panel after fitting. With East/West facing roofs you can start producing earlier and finish latter, with some firms they fit 7.5 kW worth of panels and since at midday neither set are ideal placed you never hit 7.5 kW others fit extra panels so you do hit 7.5 kW there also seems to be some debate on if water panels count and if panels used solely to heat water count. Since it is the firm fitting them who fill in all the forms it does seem it's down to who fits them.
