I have a pvc front door that when you push the handle up to lock it - it locks but will open if you push the handle down a couple of times afterwards - so effectively it is not locked at all - not sure what to do - do I need a new door?

Yes that right - it opened without a key
think it fixed now though - the hinges of the door needed adjusted so hopefully all well now.
