Hi there,
Putting a window into my property as part of my renovations - replacing a pointless door-shaped window with a wider normal height one. Done me new lintel and blockwork and ready to put the window in - got a second hand PVC one from good old ebay.
However trying it in for size, I noticed that due to the part L requirement to set it back overlapping the cavity closer by at least 30mm, the existing 150mm external sill is too narrow due to the thick rendering on the house.
Anyone know where I can get a short length (1200mm) of 180mm pvc sill from? I've found a supplier online, but they only do 5m lengths and with delivery will be a bit pricey. My local wickes dont seem to do windows any more - haven't tried other sheds yet.
Alternatively, could I just fit the existing sill and then extend it out by fitting some sort of L-shaped plastic fascia over it? This professional CAD drawing may make my question clearer...
Any advice appreciated. Cheers,
Liam
