Pyronix GSM dialler ...

OK guys, I am looking for some more help - hopefully without too much sarcasm :-)
I have sussed out that the alarm fitter has wired up the GSM dialler to the bell circuit on the panel (it's an ADE panel so it's on the switched (-) negative)

I am assuming therefore that the dialler will activate when the bell goes off ...and only when the bell goes off!

My working assumption is that in the trigger settings in the dialler (input 1) i need to set normal condition 0 volts and trigger voltage at 12v?

or does the auto learn function help in anyway here?

any experience of these please - just the last few hurdles to jump over and I should be sorted - hopefully!

thks

Hi,

First off, at one time, we used the bell trip through the old fashioned dialler which delayed the bell. So he's tripping your dialler from bell neg, probably because that was the first thing he thought of. If I could get hold of the manual perhaps we could go through it together, two heads are better... and all that. As previous engineers have pointed out that this unit can be a bit of a pain, or words to that effect, it's worth pooling our resources to see what we can come up with. Sometimes, there's nothing wrong with tripping the dialler at the same time as the bell, it depends how you want the setup to work. Please take on board the fact that I have never used this particular dialler, but you mention :-

" ... My working assumption is that in the trigger settings in the dialler (input 1) i need to set normal condition 0 volts and trigger voltage at 12v?.." In fact, the trip, or trigger on the ADE is a negative, which means that it is providing a negative path for a positive back to the panel. What seems to be happening with the setting you mention is that it is negative going positive, when in fact, if the dialler is being tripped by a negative, then the setting should be the other way around, since the trigger voltage appears to be 0v. Why not try programming the dialler for that configuration and see what happens (i.e. the opposite to what you have now). As I say, I don't have the manual and I've never used this dialler, so it's just a bit of guesswork on my part.
