I'm working on a property where the bedroom doors are currently hung as per the blue lines in the plan below (no it's not to scale!) Light switches located as per blue boxes. I don't like this direction as you sort of enter the bedroom facing the wall and if you want to move stuff in/out the door has to be opened right back. It does however seem to be quite a popular way to hang bedroom doors (the correct way?), something to do with ensuring privacy even if the door is slightly open?

Anyways, any reason why I can't rehang them as per red lines and get the switches relocated as per location of red boxes? (Easy job for electrician, stud partition walls and attic immediately above.)
