Hi,

I need to add a spur socket to an existing double socket. The socket has no existing spurs, so it should be fine, but I am not clear about one thing - does the spur socket I add have to be a double socket too? I only need a single, but wasn't sure if that was acceptable.

Many thanks,

Gary

Providing the original socket is on the ring it is OK to add a spur to a single or a double socket.

Thanks for the very quick reply.

Yes, the original socket is on the ring. The exisitng double socket is going to take a TV and Sky box, and the added spur will take the hi-fi, so apart from the TV, the loads are pretty low, and the spur is unlikely to be in operation at the same time as the existing double socket.

Cheers :)
