Question regarding pipework size to an expansion vessel

It's an expansion vessel on potable water 22 or 15 take your choice, flowrates irrelevant here.
Granted there have been some problematic inlet sets which are fickle about the orientation of the vessel etc.

Flow rate is only irrelevant because it's very low, so any practical size of pipe is adequate. That's what the OP was asking about.
