I am thinking about putting a shower in the corner of my bathroom. Basically because of the location of the soil pipe I will have to take the drainage straight out of the wall, wrap it around another wall and then straight into the soil pipe see below to demonstrate.

Now I read somewhere that this drainage pipe cant be too long, and obviously with it being wrapped around a wall its going to be very long! If this is not possible how else can I sort the drainage out? Also what size pipe is needed for shower drainage?
The reason I am reluctant to take it under the floorboards is that I just tiled it last year and don't fancy ripping it apart too, but if its the only way then hmmm...

Cheers

Which way are the joists running ? If they run from the shower to the soil you could knock a brick out next to the soil and feed 1 1/2" waste through to under the shower tray. If not 1 1/2" will do the job, just looks a bit messy on the outside.

The reason for the length of pipe is to stop self syphonage of the trap which would remove the water seal allowing foul smells to enter (not nice) if you have to do it the way you show make sure you use a 75mm trap not a shallow seal one, and i would suggest you use 2 inch 50mm pipe with clearing access at change of directions to aid any future blockages to be cleared also plenty of clips for support.

Use a hopper head to a surface water drain(if you've got one) People will scream 'water regs' on here but 20 million households can't be wrong.

If it is existing Byelaws don't apply but thats not the case, so i would ignore that advise.

Cheers guys that has given me some ideas. The joist run from the shower area to the soil so like it has been suggested I could knock a brick out and just pass the whole pipe from outside in, thus alleviate from ripping my newly tiled floor... But it will be difficult to support that pipe under the floor boards and will most likely sag with that length?

It may look messy with the pipe from the outside but right now I'm really only considering functionality, if it will do the job then great, just worried with the length of it and as mentioned problems of flow etc...

Oh God yes! I forgot. Please whatever you do don't breach any sacred byelaws.
Rip your house apart instead to boss into the mighty and all powerful soil stack. Then at least you can sleep at night without a conscience!!!
You don't want the drainage police at your door.
Have a think about what you are doing before you stick six metres of soil pipe round the outside of yer house!

Use 50mm pipe and ventilate the head just like a normal soil pipe.

Or use a HEPvO trap inline (water trap may gurgle a little but Hep trap will seal).
