quick gasket mend

hi all has anyone tried some of the products on the market for pouring in coolant to repair minor had gasket leaking problems? as my vauxhall cavalier has just developed head gasket problem and as its going to big scrap yard in sky next year dont want to spend time money repairing it . any one tried anything with success ? many thanks

ive not tried them but how do you know its a "minor" problem.

after you pour this gunk in how do you know it wont turn into a major problem?

these things rarely do what they say on the tin.

nickso iwouldnt pour it in ifor a long term mend the fact is the car is going to be scraped next year so its just to keep it running a few months and im interested if it does really work . ive used rad sealer before when i was out and had leak with no adverse effects and worked for years before i had to replace rad so just wondering if some of the other products ive seen for sale really do mend small leaks in gaskets etc

Nip the head bolts down, preferably on a just warm engine.
