i am currently first fixing pipe work for my system boiler, i will be getting a corgi guy to do the gas and boiler. I just want to check tho that all systems boilers need an external pump? i don;t want to allow for one then find the boiler has one built in. thanks in advance

I am not aware of a system boiler that doesn't include a pump. Surely you would have consulted with your installer what you do and don't need to do?

A 'system' boiler usually comes with built in pump, exp vessel and pressure guage etc.

The other type is an open vent, which does require an external pump and other controls.

Whats the make and model?

ok i think i got confused. I mean a heat only boiler, im going for a vented system so looks like i will need the pump. i have not consulted my gas man as i am getting all the pipe work and rads done, then he will come and give me a price to fit boiler and do gas work. thanks.

If its heat only you will need a pump

how many rads, what type of cylinder (if fitting one) what sort of controls are you having.

not sure on rads yet but its a 4 bed house, am probably going to fit about a 180/210ltr water tank which will feed 2 showers.

Is your friendly gasman helping with other pipework or letting you get on with it? has he given any advise on boiler size?
