Quick Question For A Plasterer

The old plaster in the revel above my window is blow and I have tapped it all down, not all you can see is the concrete lintel.

Can the lintel be directly PVA and skimmed or would it need a small coat of bonding first?

OK can it be a thin coat? about 5 mil - then skim on top of that?

Window vents are close to the top otherwise.

You would normally plaster it back to the same thickness that was on before.

next time you face this situation ask the window manufacturer to fix, or allow for a knock-on to be fixed to the top of the window.
