I am going to be running 20mm pvc conduit on the ceiling in my boiler house and purchased a t box for the middle of the ceiling, (where i wish to put a batten fitting) however the batten fitting i bought doesn't marry up flush with the box.
I was sure you could get battens that screwed up to the boxes. It's been a while but i was convinced.
Can you??

you used to. (not tried for some time)

that is its fixing centres are the same as the conduit box

Yes. It should be fine.

Most battens have a pendent style base these days. There are usually four fixing holes, two of these will be opposite each other and will be spaced to the BESA stanadard to fit the conduit box. The batten will be slightly over sized, but this is usuall. If you really want to be a perfectionist, you can use an oversized lid with a 20mm hole in the middle too.

Cheers guys, like i say, i was doing all this a while ago now...the screw holes match up fine but the diameter of the batten protrudes some, yes unsightly and WILL niggle at me forever. My concern here is the fact that the guts of the batten would be slightly exposed, hence any moisture present in the air (although unlikely) could find its way in. I could go down the road with the plate behind it, kinda looks like I've not much option.
Said to the guy in the wholesalers the other day about it and he just looked at me.
Forget it i thought, I'm not mad, you used to get em!
