Quick step clip on skirting

Hi there, a bit of assistance is needed!

I bought some quick step laminate flooring with the matching skirting and fitted the floor no probs.

Now I'm having trouble with the skirting......I am using the clip system and have put down the first one with no trouble. I have done the mitre, again with no trouble, but now I can't get the next piece in due to the angle.

Please tell me if I'm being a bit thick but how are you supposed to fit it if the skirting needs to be put in at an angle?
