Is the solvent cement used in jointing electrical PVC conduit identical to that used for solvent weld waste pipes??

Being a tight git, have some solvent weld cement which I purchased for solvent weld waste so was thinking no need to buy more for the PVC conduit.

Will try it on a test piece first!!

Yes, well, I've never had any problems. Its handy knowing a lot of plumbers

Generally solly-weld is cheaper at a plumbers merchants than electrical wholesalers, probably relates to volume.

Don't forget you cleaner (just make sure its in a well ventilated room)

I've always done solvent weld waste in a well-ventilated room.

Waste pipe is all I've done thus far which has always been brand new and the connectors brand new too. Roughen up then weld. Presumed it would be the same for conduit! If not, any tips would be appreciated.

Its an alcahol cleaner, used when jointing onto old/existing pipe. Sometimes handy on sites where they store the pipe outside

Same type of plastic just smaller for conduit - agree plumbers merchants often cheaper.
