Like how Notchy reckons anyone who uses the ignore function (what's it there for if not to be used?) is weak. Absolute rubbish. It's just that users don't necessarily want to have to wade through pages of lefty, woke, barely coherent ramblings from forum nutters like Himmy.

If Notchy wants to waste his limited time and intellect going through Himmy's mind-numbing, endless copy and paste diatribes that's up to him.

My ignore list seems to be extremely long. The main reason is that many on it are spammers, and a while ago when we were bombarded by them daily the only way I could get to see any real posters was to put them all on ignore as they appeared. Apart from those, it is just the usual suspects on the list.

Au contraire, Notchy. The weak minded people (actually all Himmy) are the ones that I'm trying to avoid. Though I haven't put you on ignore yet. Saying that, if there was a snooze function you could well go straight on there.

Avoiding Himmy's endless, long posts that sometimes fill up whole pages isn't quick or easy. It's a faff, monotonous and plain boring.

I think for clarity, it should be visible at all times who you are ignoring in case others think you are weak and avoiding those that are on your ignore list when you don’t reply to their pathetic personal posts. I tried it once by having a signature telling all who was on my ignore list. At the time it was JohnD and Ellal. Guess what happened? It was removed and I lost privileges to have a signature. I still don’t have ‘signature rights' so it obviously upset at least one of 'em.

Yes, know which one it upset. Can't see what harm a signature with who you're ignoring does - but who knows the mind of a mod?

I might make an exception in the argument in the case of Himmie as he has "unique characteristics"

I believe theres a possibility Himmie might be living in France so if you move over there, you could be neighbours, in fact I can see you both having cosy chats over a bottle of Merlot

Seriously, it's only Himmy and his couple of dozen alter egos I have on ignore. I just CBA with him. Can you imagine spending hours arguing the toss with the nutter? He has a lot of time on his hands - I have a lot less. Life's too short!
