Radiator valve problem.

I have just moved into a house where 2/3thermostatic valves do not work, full heat although set to nil.
I suspect it is the plunger in the valve, is there a way of freeing this?

If it was the other way round they could be stuck closed but sounds like they need replacing.

You can try freeing them up with the head off, turned upside down and use to push up and down on the pin... See if it gets them springing back up and down again.

If not then wax/liquid capsule failed in head.
