Hi

Just had my boiler serviced but now really weird things are happening. Randomly through the house:

1. Some radiators are nice and warm
2. Some are completely cold
3. Some are only warm about a foot from the valve side (in my case right to left)
4. With all valves fully open throughout the house, there is the most terrible noise coming from the pipes. It ranges from sloshing, squelching, lapping, splashing - basically all the noises water can make save a full on tidal wave. It sounds like how I imagine it would sound to be inside a sinking ship.

I don't know much at all about plumbing, but I did know to try bleeding them, which I did to about 4 of the downstairs ones. Just a very light hiss with only a tiny bit of bubbling water - I expected a great rush of air.

Also, there is a constant trickling of water into the radiators, like they are never filling up properly (don't know if they're meant to be full to the top)

OBVIOUSLY (before someone leaves a sarcastic comment) I need a plumber out, but is there anything else I can try before I reach for the phone and my cheque book?

We don't know much about Polish boilers or plumbing.

If you say the brand and model of boiler you have there is a chance someone may know what it is is.

How old do you think the CH system and the boiler are?

It sounds to me as if you do not have enough water in your system.

A couple of things that will help:

Does your CH have a small water tank in the loft for Feed and Expansion of the system water? Or does it have a "filling loop" to put water into the system from the mains (in which case there may also be a pressure gauge that tells you if the system is full and up to pressure).

Hi

I realised as soon as I posted the message that there were no details down of my heating system. Arrggh! Sorry guys!

I'll check for Feed and Expansion or a "filling loop", but in the meantime, the boiler is about 4 years old. It is German I believe - Buderus Logano G115.

I've boosted the heating a few degrees to see if the cold radiators will warm up. Nothing yet. It's weird. There are two identical radiators in one of the bedrooms upstairs, one is warm, the other stone cold. There is a heated towel rail upstairs too, which is cold. And so it goes on. Now to check the pressure, etc.

Thanks
