Hiya,

I hope you might be able to help.

Went to turn on the central heating today and no warming on the radiators.

Hot water has been coming on fine - I noticed that the little one had increased the dial on the hot water tank to about 80C so turned that one down.

The boiler increases the temperature quickly but when it gets to the set temp (about 70C) it goes off and all goes quiet.

I tried turning the 3 way valve to manual (it wouldn't go all the way), reset walking thermostat but still nothing.

Any ideas - am I missing anything?

The boiler is a Glow Worm 18Hx.

Providing you room stat is calling and you programmer is set correctly then I'd bet that you have a failed motor in your 3 way valve.Depending on make/model you can replace these motors for little cost.If you are not confident then call a heating engineer in.Motors retail for £15 ish.New actuator heads for about £35.

Managed to get it down to manual in the end and the heating came on.

It's 2/3 of the way between auto and manual (closer to auto) but not moving.

Is it ok to leave it as it is - not really sure what it does!
