Hi,
Following on from my conservatory post,
I wanted to confirm with my local BC what is a suitable depth for foundations for the boundary wall as it will be a full brick wall, although I dont need to do it their way, I thought the general guidance would be worthwhile.
They have suggested I use raft foundations as the house is on/near old mining area. Although the officer did say 'we cant hold you to that but in our opinion it would be the better way to go'
After that he did state approx conventional foundation depth should be approx 750mm min to 1 metre, as he was aware of soil consistency in the area.
Can I get some input from some of the more experienced posters please as to which they feel would be the better way.
Thanks.
