Had a problem with damp over and around my downstairs window for a while but this Autumn /winter really bad rain dripping in over the top of window and running down inside of alcove/rebate ?
Also noticed lot more noise from outside i.e. as if window is open ,so i,m
assuming crack under the rendering outside somwhere in the wall ,walls are about 2 foot thick as cottage is built of stone , is there a way of finding the damaged area without taking off all the front rendering , or am I better off taking it all off anyway and doing all the front of the house ?
I know you can sometimes find hollows/cracks by tapping with a hammer but is there any others ?
