I’ve just had some new Aluminium Windows and Sliding Doors fitted by ExpressBifolds. What I had not expected is that they would be very noisy in the rain. My old windows were Hardwood and it seems the new noise is rain drips hitting the hollow Aluminium Sills.

It’s on all the windows, so not particularly a position or directionally facing window thing and it’s essentially sound amplified drips. They sound like mega drips !!

The worst is of course the bedroom, but also the lounge, where the sound is heard over the TV.

Any practical advice on what can be sone to dampen them ?

Once you go from something solid to something hollow, there will always be more noise.

You can buy thin self-adhesive foam strips, but I guess you won't like that idea, and it might not be practical.
