Just wondered why you think 1997 is significant in relation to combined or separate drainage systems
I have separate foul and surface water drains, both mains pass through the rear of my property and I have two manholes on my property to access those two mains. My house was built in 1955.

Not sure I do, other than from what I’ve read water company’s like to keep it separate so I figured something built in 97 would more than likely have had to have separate systems. I was making a guess that they stopped using combined systems in the “olden days”.
Unless they do still build with combined systems?
Anyway. If mine runs into the foul sewer. I have no idea where. So I’m certain it’s seperate
