Earlier today i cleared a blocked rain water gully that was blocked with mud/stones etc....

As you can see the hopper and grate are below the level of the block paving, some of which i had to remove to get proper access and remove the grate.

Id like to bring the height of the hopper up so that its level with the top of the paving and above the dirt which im guessing is how it got blocked in the first place.

How can i increase the height without digging everything up?

Are these types of fittings push fit so i could dig out around the hopper and fit some vertical pipe to increase the height?

Plastic hopper, so very likely to be push fit, but personally I'd leave that alone and fit a gulley surround, then cut and replace the paviours to suit.

Thanks Hugh,

Using a surround sounds much easier and less likely to cause additional mishaps than disturbing whats already in place.

I was hoping for something along these lines that i could just install around/on top of what is already there.... Just didnt know the name the product to look for!!

Cheers
Rob

Thanks Ian,

I reckon ill go for the surround.

Do either of you know if you can get an additional grid that fits into the top of the surround?
